‘Sustainable land use for future generations’

Land consumption in Germany continues unabated, and the legacy of past generations represents a considerable cost and environmental risk. Our aim at FADER Umweltanalytik is to promote responsible management of the remnants of industrial development and to develop and enhance these areas in a sustainable manner. Around 6.1 hectares of land are used every day in Baden-Württemberg, which corresponds to around 2,227 hectares per year (source: Baden-Württemberg State Statistical Office). In addition, an estimated 10,000 hectares of conversion sites offer potential for high-quality subsequent utilisation and development (source: BBSR).
Our services in the field of soil and contaminated sites:
  • Environmental chemical analysis of soil, sediments and groundwater
  • Environmental chemical assessment of properties
  • Accredited sampling
  • Waste declaration of excavated material
  • Investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated sites
  • Baseline status reports (AZB) and environmental chemical preservation of evidence
  • Planning and monitoring of groundwater remediation

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Contaminated sites from industrial use pose a considerable risk to the environment and health. Early investigation and professional assessment enable hazards to be recognised in good time, remediation measures to be implemented efficiently and properties to be developed sustainably.

An environmental chemical assessment involves analysing soil, sediments and groundwater for pollutants and contamination. The aim is to recognise potential risks at an early stage and make recommendations for the safe and sustainable use or remediation of the site.

Accredited sampling is carried out in accordance with recognised standards (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018) and guarantees the highest reliability and legal certainty of the test results. This is crucial for sound decision-making and compliance with legal requirements.

Initial status reports (AZB) are required for industrial and commercial facilities, especially if potentially environmentally hazardous substances are used. These reports serve to document the condition of a property before the start of industrial activity and to make subsequent changes or pollution objectively traceable.

FADER Umweltanalytik offers comprehensive services ranging from investigation and assessment to the planning and monitoring of remediation measures. Our experts develop customised solutions that take into account both ecological and economic aspects in order to sustainably upgrade contaminated sites.
